The FSXSave installer never created its needed exe.xml entries. Well after talking with fearless frog there are some more steps that I ommited. A number of us have been trying to get this resolved and today I received this reply from DTG in respect of this: I have now heard back for you regarding the SDKs. I had to do precisely that when I installed the FSXSave module (absolute life saver). 1 I guess y'all are aware that the FSX Steam Edition as delivered by Dovetail Games does not include the Compilers. If a module doesn't work right then you'll want to open the exe.xml or dll.xml file in Notepad ++ and tailor. One is called dll.xml and the other is exe.xml. If you go to your FSX.cfg home of C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX there are two xml files. Everyone should be running FSX:SP2, FSX Acceleration, or FSX Steam (FSX:SE), which is to say that there is absolutely no reason to be running a version of FSX prior to FSX:SP2. I'm actually thinking about going Prepar3d one day though. SimConnect version 5.0 is the original version of SimConnect that came with the original FSX (before Service Pack 2, and before FSX Acceleration. I'm glad I bought FSX deluxe back in the day on eBay when I was able to. Too many inner working modules and what have you for Steam to turn the Sim into a steaming pile of you know what.ĭon't get me wrong, I use Steam and and epic games, but not for the Sim, not ever. Just another reason while I'll never use Steam for a complex cog that is FSX or FS2004. Am I to understand Steam doesn't include Simconnect in that particular incarnation of FSX? If so, that's BS. ![]()
